Fellowship Baptist Church, Upper Marlboro, MD

This is an 18,000 SF addition to an existing church.  The addition includes a new Nave and Chancel, Narthex, Welcome Center, nursery, bathrooms, and classrooms.  The structure has both steel and wood trusses as well as wood roof joists, shingle and EPDM roofing.  The exterior walls are brick with CMU back-up.  Interior walls consist of gypsum wallboard on metal and wood studs, split face block and ground face block.  Ceilings include exposed structure, drywall and lay-in acoustical panel.

Bethany Community Church, Laurel, MD

SPN has provided full preconstruction and construction phase services for the new $2.57 million church on a 22 acre undeveloped site.  The project includes a 4,800 SF sanctuary (shell only) and 18,000 SF of classrooms, office, and support space (8,000 SF of shell).  This contemporary church features a sanctuary with skywalk, bell tower, baptismal pool, room for hearing impaired, and a prayer chapel; along with an education wing for children’s studies and staff offices.  This building has an energy saving geo-thermal system heat and air conditioning, combination structural steel/light gauge structural steel framing with an EIFS exterior finish.

Cedar Ridge Community Church, Burtonsville, MD

SPN provided full preconstruction and construction phase services for the new $1.895 million, 17,280 SF one-level church.  Phase I of Cedar Ridge Community Church included approximately 9,800 SF of single-story height classrooms, offices, narthex, and support space.  The 7,480 SF sanctuary/auditorium has an exposed truss ceiling that is 35 feet high at the peak.  Site improvements include the grading of the 63 acre property, gravel roads and parking for 100 cars, stormwater management pond and improvements, pressurized septic system, new water, gas, electrical, and telephone utilities, road widening along Route 198, and general landscaping.  Value engineering included septic system redesign to use off the shelf components, reduced fire/smoke dampers and fire blocking requirements through analysis of code, and modified retaining wall/loading dock design to take advantage of existing conditions to reduce scope of work.
